Within the Dreamspell system
The 13 Moon Calendar described here belongs to the Dreamspell system. Maya 13 does not present it as identical to historical or traditional Maya calendars.
01
What is the 13 Moon Calendar?
The 13 Moon Calendar is a framework that divides a year into thirteen Moons of twenty-eight days each. Maya 13 displays ordinary days as a 364-day cycle of thirteen Moons multiplied by twenty-eight days.
02
The thirteen-Moon, twenty-eight-day structure
An ordinary Moon runs from Day 1 through Day 28. In Maya 13, the 13 Moon year begins with Day 1 of the Magnetic Moon on July 26, and the Moon number and day come from the existing calendar calculation.
03
Its relation to Day Out of Time
Outside the ordinary 364-day cycle is Day Out of Time. Maya 13 treats July 25 as this day: it has no Moon number or Moon day, while its regular KIN remains available.
04
How February 29 is handled
February 29 in a leap year is handled separately from ordinary days. Maya 13 treats it as 0.0 Hunab Ku, outside both the regular KIN cycle and the 364-day 13 Moon cycle, while the following days continue both cycles.
05
Viewing today alongside KIN
Maya 13 presents 13 Moon information alongside KIN, lunar phases, and Rokuyo. It is not an answer or prediction, but a marker for reflecting on today through several views of time.
